End of June 2007 twelve electronic left-luggage locker systems type Locksafe IV have been put into operation at Karlsruhe main station of Deutsche Bahn (German Rail).
The defect electronic lockers of a French producer were disposed.
In the front area of the toilets, a Locksafe system was equipped with a pledge solution in order to enable a free usage. For the first 15 minutes the lockers are free - thereafter the customer has to pay a higher rental fee. Thus a long-term rent of the lockers is prevented.
The LOCKSAFE locker systems were installed inside as well as outside (with integrated heating system) of the Karlsruhe station.
